The Gonzales varsity girls basketball team was ahead at the end of the first period of action on the Stevenson home court on Jan. 27, but lost following second period play which saw a lead that the visiting team were unable to overcome.

The final score was 51-28 in favor of the home team. The game ended with a three-point basket by Gonzales High School varsity player Saira Salado who had hit for a three-pointer during second period play also.

Gonzales Head Coach Sarah Lopoez simply stated after the game, “We tried.”
